A Trip Back in Time? Poland April 2011

Ever wonder what it's like traveling to Europe to find your roots? In April 2011 I spent 9 days in Berlin, and then Poland. Visiting Szydlow, Rakow and Potok where my Grandparents and their ancestors were born and lived was definitely an eye opening experience. Visiting Auschwitz, Birkenau and the Schindler Factory was very emotional and leaves a last impression. This blog will share my images, thoughts and feelings about this memorable trip back in time.

Reading the Signs

Just arrived in Berlin, where I will be for a conference this week...pre-Poland. On the plane, passengers were all asking to read this German magazine called Der Spiegel. I said Danke and took one, only to find inside a story about Eichmann. The title was "Triumph de Gerechtigkeit", translated that means "Triumph of Justice".
